There's this friend I had I'll start with some details.
-He went to my primary school(elementry)
-It's now my first year of high school, so it's been like 4 years
-I know his name and what he looks like
- a couple of months ago, I seen him at the shop that's down my street, but didn't talk to him
- I found his number and rang up. His mum anwsered and I didn't say anything. Then I hang up

What should I do? He was a great friend, but I don't wanna seem weird ringing up, after years.

Is he on Facebook? That's generally a good place to reconnect with people you've lost touch with. Send him a friend request, maybe a message. Just say, 'Hi, it's been a while! How have you been?'

If that fails, I think you were on the right track calling. It's not weird to call up out of nowhere. I'd be flattered if someone made the effort to reconnect with me after a few years apart. I actually have a friend who I used to be really close with, but now we never talk. If he called and asked for me right now, I'd be eager to chat!

Good luck! :)

Like Ryan said,

Try social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter. Also search for family relations to that person as if you can find a father or a mother etc then that's one step closer to finding your friend.

Its good you're trying so hard to find this old friend of yours.
