So I've been wondering about something in Nightwish's Song of Myself. In part IV Love, near the end the lyrics read "all you bible black fools living over nightmare ground." What do you think Tuomas means by "bible black fools"?
He might be talking about people who say they are Christian but don't really live it, or don't really get the meaning of it. I interpret "why do we still carry a device of torture around our necks" as a crucifix necklace. Wearing it but not really getting the meaning of it, or dwelling on the fact that Christ died and not why he died.
He questions society throughout the song, "while violated and imprisioned by technology", so maybe he is doing that here too--criticizing those who don't really live by the bible when they say they do. I know Toumas believes in God but does not believe one religion has it all (somehting like that) so maybe that has something to do with what he wrote. What do you think he means by it?
