It's not that I have a bad battery; it's just that I want it to be better. Does anyone have any helpful tips and/or tricks? Thanks,
-Rob

EDIT: BTW: The computer is about 3 months old.

Firstly, despite apple saying that laptops newer than 2010 are pre-calibrated, calibrate your battery. You do this on MacBooks by draining your battery completely. Like, completely completely (to the point where it turns off on it's own or around 3%), then charging it completely and leaving it on the charger for a few hours extra (so, I would recommend doing it overnight or some other time you won't be needing your laptop for a bit).

Secondly, turn off the unnecesary features. If you don't use bluetooth (even at that moment), turn it off. If you're on a wired connection, turn off Wireless. Dim the display. The obvious stuff.

Close applications completely when you're done using them and avoid having too many open, dim your keyboard, if you don't use Dashboard, you can save a bit of battery by disabling it. Keep these in mind and your battery life should stay true to the estimation, and the 8 hour (or whatever hour it is on the 2012 model :P) claim that Apple has.

I recommend calibrating the battery. I have a 2012 13" MBP and calibrate the battery at least once a month. If not, 2-3 times.
