Yes, it's a wonderful series, and I have pretty high expectations of the movie.

On the other hand, expect alot of religious controversy over it. One of my cousins from the more religious side of the family sent us a warning via email telling us not to go see it (they don't know that it's one of our favorite series)

Why? Because the plot revolves around "killing god"

Well it's not a Narnia movie. The next Narnia movie comes out on May 16th.

It's called "TCON: Prince Caspian"

They return to Narnia and Narnia is still a war torn country but has gotten worse then before.

His Dark Materials was my favvvourite trilogy when i was a kid. personally i don't think the movie will be that great, still a good chance i'm gonna end up seeing it though.

and don't compare the golden compass to Narnia, Pullman hated that series :P
