So, I am in a point where I am about to ask a girl, some of her friends have told me she likes me and we talk a lot and seem to be compatible. I am determined to do it but I have several questions.

We have never dated really, just spoken a lot, so do I ask her out to a date or do I ask her to be my girlfriend?

Where and when is the best time to ask her?

If she says "yes", what do I do after?

You're 14 so asking her on a date or just to be your girlfriend shouldn't really matter, though I will say asking her on a date or two first could really help set a higher standard for your relationship. As far as where and when, only you can decide that. You'll feel an impulse to do, act on it. Only you will know when the time is right.

If she says yes, that's perfect. You have a relationship. I don't know what else to tell you to do after.

Where and when? Make sure it's fairly private when you ask her so you can chat openly with her and then arrange something you'd both enjoy. As Josh said it shouldn't matter too much, do what feels right. :)

What I meant by that was basically do I hug her? Hold her hand? Kiss her? Give her something? Say thank you (which is a bad idea)?

(Coming from a girl)

I have been asked out before, but this how I would like it. I would say kissing is too soon. "Thank you" too formal, like you asked her to a formal dinner party. Hold hand, up to you, to me, holding hands while walking down the hall bugs me... I would say hug her or wrap your arm around her if you are going the same way, but if you have to part, you can hug her or whatever and say something like "Call me" or whatever. It all depends on you and the girl. :)

Good luck!
