Hello fellow VT members!
I'm a (semi) huge fan of the TV series Game of Thrones, and I havent really meet anyone else that watches it, at least not someone near the same age as me.
Soooo, if you watch the series, post here or post your favorite parts of the series and why

You are far from being alone, I love the series due to it's magnitude. I have never been so hooked into a series since I watched Saint Seiya. There are so many sub-stories of individual characters going on which is both good and bad since I want to know basically about Jon Snow, Arya Stark, and Daenerys Targaryen and all I see for half the eposide is the story at King's Landing.

I love the show, and I love the books even more! :D
Ever since I started watching Season 1 when it first aired a couple of years ago, I've been obsessed with it. As soon as the season ended, I picked up the books and I read all of them. Soon after that, I became a member of Westeros.org, a forum for all thing ASoIaF and Game of Thrones, and I'm an active poster to this day. :)
It's become a big part of my life, and I've been to a lot of GoT events here in NYC. I was at the Game of Thrones exhibition, the launch of the Season 2 DVD, and a couple of book signings where I got all my books signed by the man himself, George RR Martin.
There's a huge ASoIaF/GoT community of fans calling themselves the Brotherhood without Banners, and they often have meeting around the country, usually in Chicago. I'd love to go there and be a part of it next year.
Lord of the Rings? Star Wars? Pfft. Deep down, I'm a Thronie, through and through. :D
PS: If anyone wants to talk about the show, just drop me a PM. I'd love to have someone to discuss it with here.

Wow, and I thought I was a big fan :)
I've only watched the series, but I've been debating on whether I should read the books or not. I probably will end up reading them though, because everyone adores them, and to get my fix of the series during the year-long wait between seasons

If you're someone who likes reading, you shouldn't think about getting the books. Just do it. :P
As good as the show is, the books are so much better. They can't really fit an 800 page novel into 1 season of 10 episodes, so they've cut some of the less important ( but very intriguing ) characters and plots. You'll like the show even more after you've rad the books. You'll know more about the worlds, the history, the characters...

The books are much much better! I like the show however as it helps to create the world in your mind. But seriously, read the books!

All my friends who have HBO watch it. It gets a little confusing sometimes but I really like it. There are so many characters to keep track of but the acting is great and I want to play Hodor because I have all his lines memorized.
HODOR!!!

Game of Thrones, MadMen and Mr. Selfridge are all on around the same time so it's tricky to Tivo them and to pick out which ones I get to watch before I got to go to bed.

You're right. I went out and bought the first 3 books and I kept thinking about starting to read them until one day I just did it lol. The books are amazing. And the show is too. To me, they cut out the perfect parts that needed to be cut out for the show, and the actors are great.

Its a good series, I have yet to get the books, but first finishing Darren Shan's new Vampire Saga. (Finished Demonata a long time ago lol)
I have the first book of the series: Birth of a Killer, good book.
Now, for Game of Thrones, I simply loved Season 1 and 2. Waiting for season 3. I have both seasons and and the special addition Episodes. I finished season 1 in about 3 days and season 2 in one day lol. Would be interesting to see how Season 3 unfolds, and also to see if the little shit for a king gets his head chopped off by his Uncle or not. Since I haven't had the time to read the books, I don't know the story line that well beyond Season 2.
Next to Gundam 00, Game of Thrones is my favorite series. :)

I freaking love the shows, and I have the book but haven't read it. The text is too small and not split into paragraphs. It's annoying. :(

If you have not read the books get them now. Best books I've ever read. As for the show, I've only seen a couple of the episodes from season 3 since I do not have HBO. Maybe one day…
