Is there a lot of air traffic where you live? Do you like it? Is it annoying? Tell me your thoughts below. ;)

I live about about 8 miles from my nearest airport, and it's not that busy at the moment as it's only a regional airport with a few international flights. But they're extending the runway so hopefully it'll get louder and busier. :P

Few flights. We seem to be on a 3 way divide with many flights either flying straight all the way above either down to London or Up towards Manchester and Transatlantic and The turning flights for Birmingham on my left or East Midlands on my Right

There's a small airport 12 miles west of me and an air force base just a mile or two closer. Other than that, there's two airports a hour away... I don't hear as many planes going over as I used to. Where I lived before, two of those airports were 10 minutes from my apartment so we got a lot of traffic then. Now it's like one plane most days, sometimes none, sometimes two. If it's the air force, we sometimes get 4 or 5 in a row. It doesn't bother me much, unless I'm on the phone and it's flying low.

In Mexico city there is an insulting ammount of air traffic, thankfully I live far away from the airport although I can see it from where I live. When I lived in Bogotá there wasn't too much air traffic but the airport got very disorganized when a new section started being built. Hopefully it has been concluded.

I'm sure there is.

Planes fly over all the time here. But more so in the afternoon. I can always spot the FedEx plane. :P

Nearly everyday I hear the stupid helicopter. My residence hall is near a hospital I think. It's so annoying hear the loud noise of the helicopter, especially when you're trying to sleep or watch a video.

I live on the other side of the city to the airport, but depending on which runway is being used, planes will either be taking off over my house (they'd be pretty high but you can still hear them) or coming in to land over my house (again, pretty high but audible). I always try when I'm in work to see my house from whatever plane I'm on :P

There aren't any big airports near where I live, so there aren't any airplane noises... however, it seems like I live in a siren testing area: every morning some kind of governmental car roams around at max volume.

I'm a couple of hours from the airport, but am in the flight path between two major airports and a trans-Atlantic flight path. There are probably a couple of airplanes in the air around me at all times, on average.

I live less than 5 miles from the Cincinnati International Airport. However virtually no air traffic flies over my house, so its actually rare to hear an airplane fly over.

I'm about eight kilometres from Perth International Airport.
When they use runway 03, the departure route is right overhead, which is often in the morning and early afternoon. Lots of flights going out to minesites and other regional airports around Western Australia and the Northern Territory, as well as the other flights to domestic locations. On top of that, there are the South African, Emirates, Singapore, Garuda, New Zealand, Malaysia and some other international heavies that operate in and out of Perth. There are four(?) daily flights from Perth to Jakarta/Bali (I forget which.)

When they use runway 21, I am less than four kilometres from the final approach.

At RAAF Pearce Airbase, I hear the air traffic using runway 18. There are often air force movements to Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory, as well as Republic of Singapore Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force and New Zealand Air Force movements and training out of Pearce.

I do like that. What I don't like, is the constant thumping of the Police Airwing's copter night after night.

7Km away of LEBZ. The Air Force and Commercial Airlines Share Runways 13 and 31. There isn't much traffic unless the Air Force is up with the training, in which days from 21 to 22PM There is a simphony of F-18s cruising the skies above me. I am about 5km south of the base leg on the Traffic pattern for RW 13

there isn't much air traffic because I live an hour from the nearest airport, but there are train tracks behind my house, beyond the woods, and they're always busy.

I like it. The sound of planes relaxes me. I want to be a pilot so....

I live about 20 miles from Glasgow airport and I see a lot of the Loganair/FlyBe flights heading off to the islands and we also regularly see transatantic flights coming in and out of Glasgow come over as one of the SID/STAR waypoints is over my town, so they are a regular sight. I also see basically any longhaul aircraft you can imagine from the 757 all the way up to the A380 flying over when heading out to the Atlantic. My favourites to see are the ANZ1, THT7 (Air Tahiti Nui) and any A380 or something unusual. Glasgow airport is boring, but the Skies above my head make up for it - I love living here, it's very interesting in the air traffic sense. (can you tell I like aircraft?)

Back when I lived at home my house was right below a final approach course for George Bush Airport in Houston. I think I just ignored all the noise from the aircraft in my head. Now I live 500 feet from an active military runway, but some aircraft are so quiet I can't hear them. Others however, are extremely loud.

A lot of traffic in my area. I live in between both Chicago Midway and Chicago O'Hare. So I get both regional and commercial jets. I love it because I love planes.
