So over the last month or so i've really been considering getting dreadlocks (like in my avatar). So what are your opinions? I know lots of people see someone with dreadlocks and think "Stoner" or "hobo" but i don't believe that. I've met a few people who had there hair dreaded, And were nothing like the stereotype.

I've always found dreadlocks intriguing. I'd like to have them as well, but for me they require too much effort. Contrary to popular belief, they aren't easy to achieve. Takes dedication, if you have that I don't see why you shouldn't have them. Don't listen to everyone, it's your choice. Make sure you know how to maintain them too, otherwise they will turn to shit and look disgusting.

I think they're pretty cool, and suit some people well. If you're gonna do it, you should be ready for the upkeep it's gonna take, especially in the beginning. Also, I think you should start preparing yourself for the people who are gonna assume things about you.

In all honesty... when I see someone with dreadlocks I think "Good for them! Expressing themselves! They're screwed during a formal job interview!"

I think that they're acceptable on people of color but not on white people. If you're white, it's something called "cultural appropriation" and, long story short, it's really bad because you're making a fashion statement out of something that has been mocked, ridiculed and held up as an example of "racial inferiority."

They look really cool when you have them neatly done and tied back into a ponytail. And not in the "hobo" or "stoner" style you speak of.

Personally, I don't like them. But, on some guys.. it can look bad ass.

I personally can't stand them. They look kinda dirty sometimes, especially left in so long. And they aren't attractive to me, imo. And I live in an area where that style is prevalent.

ive only ever really seen them on black men in real life, now i dont know whether you are white/black/asian OP but i think that they would look odd on a white guy, just my opinin though. they are kinda of a rastafarian thing i think, and i believe that rastafarians are all black, but dont take my word for it, thats just what ive been told by friends etc.

Some people can pull them off.
I'm fine with them if they're neat and clean...

I don't mind them in other people, but I don't want then nor find the attractive. And I live where a lot of people have them.

Honestly, I dislike them a lot. Many people associate dreadlocks with poor hygiene.
