So last week I saw the new Oz movie.
It wasn't my choice really, it was the only movie playing at the time, but I played along just because.
So it's ok I guess, corny, and cut-short, and unrealistic, but the effects are nice to look at and stuff, it was clever...
But there's one thing that is really bothering me about it.
The witch Theodora (played by Mila Kunis) was completely screwed over throughout basically the whole entire movie.
I mean seriously: she falls in love, then she gets played by the evil witch, Oz rejects her for her prettier sister which breaks her heart (:(), she then gets corrupted, turns into a monster and then everyone hates her and she gets banished.
She gets no remorse from anyone.
It really sucks, and I hope that in the sequel (yes apparently they're making another one) they give her something better... :/

Unfortunately, knowing the classic story of The Wizard of Oz, she probably just ends up dying in vain. :(
That really sucks.
I wish I could give her a hug or something.

Idk why, but this was bothering me. :/
Did anyone else see it and feel the same way?

I haven't heard about it much, but I'll have a look into it and try to see if I get a similar feeling. (Give it a week or so, I'll get back to you).

I felt bad for her, too. She was so sweet and innocent when we first met her, it sucked to see her completely lose all of that.

Overall, I liked this movie. It was no masterpiece, but it was solid. I didn't like the casting of James Franco and Mila Kunis, though. Which is really odd, because they were the two actors I was most excited about before I saw the movie. Mila Kunis was fine before her character became 'wicked,' but after that she just lost me. Her voice didn't suit her character anymore and it wasn't believable. And James Franco's character would have been better suited to the original casting choices of Robert Downey Jr. or Johnny Depp, imo, just because they have such a natural charisma.

Agreed that Depp or Downey should have played Oz. ;)

It's just so weird that I can't get that image of her with the burn scars going down her cheeks from the tears out of my head. Idk why... :/
