Yes, yes, religion and politics you do not discus.. But to me if you're going to have sections of a teen forum site talk about things like sex and bullying why not religion and politics? I know, both sides have many sides and branches and could start cyberbullying. But why not?

Is it too touchy of a subject to have either?
Is it too worldly?
Is it too many religions to have in one section?
Is it too many political allignments?
Is it that this too is the case; confusion and opposition?

Please be civil if you answer!
At least have respect. I myself am a Christian; as if it helps this case; and I am not asking for a Teen Bible Study, but why not an area for it? Many Teens struggle mentally from politics and religion and yes many say, "just drop it," but those topics aren't as easily dropped. What do you say? Deal? Consideration? Too crazy?

For reasons stated in this (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=3880) thread, I say no to this. Any religion threads can go in TWPR or ROTW as the thread says. An entire section for these really isn't necessary. (If you search religion in this forum, you'll get a few other threads about this same topic.)

It's come up several times in the past and the verdict always comes down to a fairly firm no. As Val has already said, there are places to post in regards to religion or politics. In a sense, religion could almost fall into any category if it related to any problem such as a Christian struggling with sexuality. It's not needed, really.

Alternatively, you can request a diary and house your own discussions on the topic in there.

A whole new section isn't needed.

Thank you, and thank you for replying, at least not ignoring, thanks!

Well like others have said. If its a debate then it can be posted in ROTW. If its a statement or rant then TWPR. If its a recent thing on the news then VT Daily Chronicle would do the job.

The problem with sections like you wanted is that they can be very touchy about the subject and one wrong word can lead to fights or arguments.

If you're really interested in politics or religion then you could create and base a diary on it as this would be like running your own mini forum.
