I hate to admit this but I need some kind of help or talk if that makes sense

In my religion every young man is asked to go on a mission teaching the religion they do not get paid, in fact we pay to go.

That being said I am expected to go by pretty much the whole town I should have left last year but I haven't been sure about going. Me and my girlfriend broke up and I ended up in the mentality that ere was not anything else for me and that I had no other options. Now that I have gotten over it I'm seeing other possibilities and think I want to go to college but I'm scared to face the town and my family and friends.... And it's just getting to the point that I'm way over stressed and I can't function very well in my life what should I do.....

What are you asking? For people to give solutions to things going wrong?

Well how to I tell people I'm not going should I decide that? Or how could I go about deciding what to do?

Just state what you think. If they are offended, it's not your problem. I am a religious person, but even I believe in not giving a fuck. If you just can't bring yourself to say no, then try explaining the issue to your closest friends. Then once you are more comfortable, your friends in general, and progress slowly until you simply can't go and everyone understands. If they don't understand? Fine, they weren't worth the calories it took to tell them your problem.
