so 3 weeks ago my mom flew me from the UK to the US to see family for spring break. I'm a graduate already so I had no problem with it. so it was me and my cat in Texas. no problem then my aunt told me to get the mail a week ago and I found all my paperwork and a workers permit and a letter saying that I can't come back home. if I do I will be living on the streets. I'm applying at places since I got everything. I honestly don't know what to do. soon I'm gonna have to find a place. I guess this is just the start for my adventure in America

Holy shit, bro! What a way for your mum to say bye, eh?
I was kicked out at 16, and living on your own is easy! Trust me :D Well, it is here in England, because of the benefits and what-not... But aren't there things in America you can apply for to help you along until you find your feet? :)
And if you're ever low on cash, go to a food bank! They helped me a lot when I'd spent my money on the rent :) There are normally ones in Churches, and getting involved in the community will definitely help you out, too!
Make sure you don't mix in with the wrong people in the neighbourhood - I did and I could have got into all sorts of trouble. It's unbelievable how vulnerable you can be when living on your own for the first time.
Try make some friends that can help you out when needs - financial advice, cooking advice and even emotional advice! :) That'll definitely help you along, too :)
Good luck and enjoy your new adventure ^_^

I honestly don't know what to say, did she say why you're being forced to never come back? If not you should try and find out
I honestly wish you the best of luck.

it's a lot different. I was looking at laws here and they are strict here in Texas. I'm happy I'm mix with Hispanic so I blend in right here. I made some friends here at some. hey at least my Chav of a mom sent me my computer and guitar. my cat is grumpy from all this I hope she doesn't get home sick. but I guess the only thing I benefit from all this is music concert! I get to see my favorite bands in the summer :D thank you for the wishes I know I can do this

Pretty extreme but maybe she knows it may be the best thing for you?
Embrace it

I agree. But that must be pretty intense.

That sucks, best of luck. That was very cruel on your mom's part, she's cold. Can you at least stay with your aunt?

Cruel and cold? I don't think so. But it is rude and classless.

not cruel and cold to send you child out of the country telling them its a vacation when in reality you want to get rid of them. To decide to just send them away and send them mail explaining that they aren't coming back home.

Cruel means causing suffering, that's not causing suffering but emotional hurt.

That would depend on what one considers to be "suffering".

That was very harsh of her to do..
But I mean if you have family where you are now, ask them for help to get you on your feet. You'll be able to get your own place in no time if you find a job or even with some help.
Best of luck! :)

Cruel? No. Cruel is different; a more fitting phrase would be absolute douchebaggery.

yeah my aunt is a saint she is letting me stay once I find a place to live. I been networking around with people I met and I met a lot of useful resources. so I'm trying my best to look on the bright side of this situation. but at least I always have a piece of home with me (my cat)

jeez, that's pretty harsh. It's good that you have a place to stay, though. (Re)stating the obvious here, it's definitely a good idea to get a good job. Not necessarily super high-paying, but at least something to get you on your feet. Welcome to the Sates, bro.
I also have to disagree with Cicero. How is emotional hurt not suffering? Isn't any kind of pain considered suffering?

we do have something for that, foodstamps, although its probably called something different depending on where you live. If your 18 you can get money for things like rent.
yeah you can go to food banks and some places like my town have freestores, where you can get stuff for free.
yeah it is a good idea not to get mixed in with the wrong crowd, watch out for the dangerous neighborhoods too, you don't want to living in those areas.
also, try looking for your town's local police station, and see what your town/state will give you for benefits you can probably get a good start by starting your search there.

That's what I was going at. The definition of cruel is to inflict pain or suffering. Not PHYSICAL pain or suffering. People can suffer emotionally, therefore it is cruelty.

I'm speechless, its hard to believe that your mom would do that to you! Anyway, my advice: think everything over because a mistake this early could be a big inconvenience. :)
