i just wanted to get some peoples veiw on what im planning on wearing to my prom, i got a black suit and im going to wear it with a white shirt and black bow tie (my date is wearing a black dress) and i was thinking about wearing a new pair of black or grey vans with it. She said its not dressy enough but i think it will look solid, thanks

Personally, I don't think Vans are dressy enough. However, if that's what you're comfortable in, wear them. But, I think you should wear just plain black shoes, nothing fancy just more 'elegant' than Vans.

If that's the style you go for, then by all means go for it. Just make sure they match your suit. They may not seem as "elegant" as dress shoes but if its your thing then go do it. I go to a pretty preppy school and I've seen people wearing vans and some other skate type shoes with suits or tuxes on. I personally don't so that but it's not a bad thing. Good luck man!

I would go for it, but she might get mad at you. However, it's your outfit, not hers. I'd probably go with the black ones too. Grey might stand out a bit too much and look out of place. But do whatever suits your style. A lot of girls at my school wore converse with their dresses, so it probably won't be a big deal.

to our school prom im wearing dressy shoes then taking trainers for if they become uncomfortable which i thinks the best idea. Its up to you though and if you want to be moaned at

Satisfy the girl: wear some dress shoes, and save the vans for another occasion. Prom is always thought to be "her night". Give her what she wants, and in turn, you can get what you want ;)

While the vans would be a nice more casual look I wouldn't. You could always brig them if dressier shoes become more uncomfortable as mentioned above.

Hmmm, I dunno, everything is pretty dressy, then you have black vans. Just go full out dude! Wear dress shoes too! Complete the outfit!
