How to deal with a bully who doesn't know he's a bully

OK so I'm one the more popular kids my age, but it wasn't always like that.
Last year a kid in my class bullied me around physically and mentally and it really lowered my self esteem. This year I bece popular and he became unpopular , but in school he still insults me.
What should I do? When I tryed standing up to him he just makes fun of me. Going to a teacher isn't an option.

try talking to some friends who can back you up or speak to a school guidance councellor
they are usually the better person to go to as they're an adult and are educated in things like this.

It's just one person being a prick. Now that you're "popular", you can tell your friends that this guy is being a complete moron, and confide in others. They'll tell this guy to back off for you. Why isn't telling an adult an option? Tell an adult too, you can't let someone continue like this and lower your self esteem.

Try talking to him. Ask him why he treats you the way he does, and tell him how he's made you feel. It's also probably best to forgive him for being a dick and let him know you're not mad, and you don't hate him or anything. Aside from that, you can always just bring it up with your friends, they'll have your back. If you can't tell a teacher, try talking to some other trusted adult.

Other than that, I'd say just don't let him bother you. "Don’t focus on the one guy who hates you. You don’t go to the park and set your picnic down next to the only pile of dog shit."

You need to call him out on it. Its the only way for him to see sense. You don't have to challenge him or anything like that but call him out on what he's done and what he's like. Its the only way he'll see sense and your point of view.

If he's unpopular and nobody likes him then I'd say to leave him alone and just ignore him. Cause ya know sometimes people aren't worth it.

Tell him i dont like what you say to me or get someone much bigger then him to say it for you
