Hello friends. I was curious to know how to fix a low battery life (besides the obvious) on an iPod touch 4G. Also how much does it cost to get one replaced?

You could jailbreak it and get an app that sacrifice performance for battery life. You iPod would be a bit slower but you would maintain a longer battery.

If you bought it a year ago, you have the warranty, so bettery replace is 100% free. However, if you've had it for more than a year, then you'll need to pay 80 bucks to replace it.

I'd hunt around online. Paying in store price for an Ipod Battery is expensive as hell.

It's been under a year I believe....80 bucks? I think I could handle that. I'd rather pay the money than have some dim-wit screw up my device.

what^he said
you can download a few apps that can save your battery life
also try adjusting your brightness settings and turn off wifi and 3G
there are several things you can do to maximize battery life
I have a shitty 3GS although I mainly use it for music
if I dismiss all my used programs and optimize the settings my battery lasts for up to 2 days
good luck :)

You could get a used iPod touch 4th generation for that much on eBay and it would be in good quality (maybe a crack on the screen but still). What I do is I buy a $50-70 cracked iPod (extremely cracked) fix it up for $20 (which will cover a screen replacement) and I just fix it myself. I am currently doing my ipod and its going good so far!

No way to fix iPod 4g. I had one and broke it because of the battery. It shut off on me when it had a full battery twice in a few minutes. Honestly don't buy new Apple products because the batteries suck, Samsung and android is a better option.

I agree. I'm hoping to get an android sometime soon.
