My family gets into arguments everyday about little things, nothing seems to be good enough but I've been in a slump because I don't like to fight...
Is it better to just stay quiet like a mute and just sit there..
Or fight about things and get my input in there?

Have you tried talking to them individually to try and understand their point of view? Sometimes the most obvious problem is the lack of communication and I'm sure you can help by being more passive than active in the discussion. I think by getting actively involved you'll end up taking a side and it will create tension with whoever is on the other side.

When my family is having an argument (which happens fairly often), I just calmly state my opinion, and then stay out of it. If they're going to argue, let them. But it doesn't mean you have to become involved and put yourself into the situation.

Remaining silent can be a bad thing, if somebody is being unfair in their actions then you have a voice which you are justified to use to respond with...Don't let others walk all over you.
Fighting however will lead to a break down of communication and further conflict, swearing and insults (which while said in the heat of the moment) Affect relationships....
I usually stick to facts and calmly explain matters, also. I talk in a normal voice to show that I'm not getting angry (sometimes others look for a reaction) if they start getting aggravated, I make it clear I don't want an arguement and wont continue while their behaviour isn't adult like. But I make my viewpoint clear.
Back in to context, it really does depend on who you are disagreeing with and why. "Is their request/observation/opinion/point valid or accurate?" IF YES: Appropriate action. IF NOT: "I disagree... Because"
Words often have a profound effect. Use them carefully.
