So, I have really bad itches after having taking a shower tonight. All over my body, though really bad in the private area. It is so severe, I am not able to sleep. I have a history of skin problems, from bad acne to scalp psoriasis to dry skin, so that may help. Dunno. Shampoo: neutrogena tgel. May help, again, dunno. I have already tried rubbing my body down with baby wipes and a hot wet rag, but nothing helps. By the time you read this and come with an answer, I may already be asleep. But please, still answer because I know I will have this problem again. Any tips?

Maybe you could try taking cooler showers if you take really hot ones. Hot water can dry out your skin and irritate it.
Also, I think you should get some lotion or ointment made for people with skin problems, so if that happens again you'll be prepared.
Good luck

Basically what she said, plus, maybe try switching soaps, to something for sensitive skin. In the mean time, see if you have any calamine lotion or maybe even aloe vera gel could help? Calamine I think comes in a pink bottle, it's used a lot for poison ivy/oak and chicken pox and stuff, some you won't scratch. Aloe is good for skin irritation, especially sunburn, but it may work for itching too.

I agree, taking hot showers only makes you itchier.(talking from experience) If you think its a flare up of your existing skin conditions, I recommend you go and see your GP, as they may be able to prescribe creams and ointments to help. You could also take some Antihistamine to calm the itch, which might make sleeping a bit better.
