I need someone to geek out over The Host with me. Not the movie, although I saw it tonight and it was okay, but the actual book.

Ok I haven't read the book but I saw the movie and I wasn't really impressed by it

I had a friend who gave me a Borders gift card for my birthday but still made me buy The Host. I stopped in Chapter 2 or so. I don't remember why even. It's interesting, because I managed to read the entire fucking Twilight series, cover to cover, Twilight through Breaking Dawn. The only even partially tempting part of the film is that Saoirse Ronan is in it.

read the book(half of it)
hated it so much I couldn't finish it
definitely not gonna waste my time seeing the movie either
I am done with stephanie meyer unless she starts writing something more interesting other then vampires and mythical stuff.

Well,I don't like her other works so much myself, but The Host was actually very...insightful to human behavior. I thought it was great.

I read it 4/5 years ago when it first came out, I thought it was quite a difficult book to get into and whilst the concept I found interesting I don't think she wrote as well as she could have done so I was left a little disappointed, although overall it was still good just not great. And I'll probably see the film mainly because my mum really wants too.
