I am 28 weeks pregnant and just found out that I had a high blood pressure reading today. The Dr. said it wasn’t too high, but I guess it caused enough concern to send me to the lab for some diagnosis on blood. I have never had high blood pressure in my life. Why did they draw blood and what are they going to do?

I'd take it easy throughout the rest of your pregnancy. Most women who develop high blood pressure during their pregnancies are at higher risk of developing problems during the gestational period than women who don't (develop high blood pressure).
High blood pressure has also been linked to preeclampsia, and other complications.
While I can't really say how much of an issue it would be, your doctor will probably say the same thing to you, take it easy and try not to do anything (such as anything that will really get your heart rate up, such as exercise or stress) strenuous or stressful.
Good luck, hope you and your baby are fantabulous, let us know how things go.
(Also: Moved to VT General Hospital.)
