my sister got the flu
she was throwing up and had dierreah or however you spell it
this only lasted a night
it came on just as fast as it went away
anyways its been a week and I still haven't gotten anything
I have been eating but had some nausea but only because I got my period
is there still a chance I will get what she had. were assuming it was a flu bug. my mom was around her more cause she had to clean up the mess and stuff I was there but wasn't really touching anything
I am wondering if while I am still healthy if I should go get a flu shot
thanks

*shrugs* you're probably fine. I haven't gotten the flu in about a year or more, and it's been double that time since I've gotten a flu-shot, let alone seen a doctor. Haha

A flu shot won't protect you from a bug like that. If it's only lasted a day, it's a different type of virus. Typically, a flu virus will last about a week or longer, and it's more associated with aches and generally crappy feeling than throwing up and such (though you can have those types of symptoms as well). In any case, you're probably fine.

Yes, definitely get the flu shot lol. I know it costs a pretty penny but the flu stinks. Second.y. As you sure she had the flu? Because influenza generally lasts a week or more with symptoms like dry eyes, clogged mucous membranes, headaches, as well as the nausea and vomiting. She could have had something more like norovirus from what you described, and there's really no prevention for that except staying away from it. Still, get the flu shot, it'll help prevent flu which is totally worth it.
