Asked Out a Girl!

Today at 3 PM after school I decided to do which I never did in person before...ask a girl out. And so begins my story on how is happened. The girl I like let's just call here Lexi (not here real name) rides my bus,also we leave in the same town homes. Anyways I am on the bus actually trying to get my confidence up to ask this girl out after I get off our stop. As our bus faster than usual approaches the street sign marking off what will happen soon. The bus stops and I get off the bus. Oh man my heart was pacing fast I almost chickened out! I told myself Floyd...you will not do this "Screw it" I said. I call out her name "Lexi" she looks back waiting for me to catch up. After I caught up with her I kind went straight to the point which I kinda regret, but I said "I've been wondering if you want to go out with me" as I said that I seen her get the biggest smile on her face, but still she hasn't given me an answer yet. Thanks to my instincts I told her she did not have to tell me the answer now. After I said this she said something "I do not really know you and I want to be friends before this." I kept my cool and I said "Alright that is fine" And I was like hey, can I get your number. I got her number now; I decided to wait a couple hours before I text her. And her ends my story.

The questions I actually have though are the following:
I text about four hours after I got here number still haven't got a reply back,what does this means?
I am in the dark abyss now (friend zone) should I try to still and get her?
Was I to haste on asking her out?
Anything else on this story you want to ask or tell me?


Extras on the friend zone: Wouldn't it be awesome if you were about to be friend zoned and you start running and I mean running and the words "Friend Zone" were chasing you down?

Was I to haste on asking her out? yes you went too fast. she barely knows you so what did you expect. we all go through crushes but most people will try and be friends with the people they like before quickly jumping to the point. I am sure if you weren't so nervous you probably would have waited longer. gotten to know her better.
try and take her out. hang out with her more at school or after
invite her over for homework sessions and stuff like that. and maybe eventually down the line if you notice her coming around maybe try again. but for now let things run their course just don't rush things.
