I am a guy and currently gay and the guy I want to ask out I know is gay
I need advice on how to ask him out

hmmm, i wouldnt immidiatly ask him out. i would do what, we, in new zealand call Opping. opping is where you get to a stage where you are pretty much 'going out'. you beggin by just txting ect, progressing weekly untill you are a stage where you are in a realtionship without either parties asking the awkward question.

I'd say something like this would be best. Just casually get closer to him without having to actually ask the question. Or, you can ask him to go somewhere with you and a bunch of mutual friends and hang out with primarily him the whole time. You can then ask him somewhere else, just you and him.

That's a nice idea. Just gradually 'lean in' to a relationship (assuming he wants to be a in a relationship with you). Just start hanging out with him, and let him know how you feel.

Do you two even know each other? It seems like you just found a gay guy and want to ask him out just out of the blue. No offense, but take things slowly first. Grow that friendship and when it's the right time, ask him out :) Good luck!

explain to him how you feel.
pull him aside and talk to him
tell him you like him and you were wondering if he wanted to hang sometime and see how things go from there
build a bond with him first before taking the next step otherwise you may ruin things for the future
