hey recently my aunt gave me her olllllddddd pc that has windows 2000 on it, im just wandering how to conect it to the internet if all i have is a wireless router? lol and no i am not on it i am on my normal computer thanks!

Well, since it's old and has Windows 2000 on it, it's not likely to have a wireless network adapter. You are most likely going to have to buy a cheap WiFi USB adapter from Walmart, Best Buy, etc. for around 30 bucks. Ask in the electronic department, shouldn't be hard to find. Be warned, you won't be doing anything heavy on it, especially with Windows 2000. You might be lucky trying Opera for a web browser, that's about it. If the specs are good enough, I'd recommend upgrading to Windows XP using the Windows Classic theme. Do you know the make and model of the PC?

well as for internet buy a cheap internal (Or external) wifi card.

depending on the specs it should be able to handle different applications to different degrees.

Windows 2000, like Windows ME, is pretty bloated.

You are best advised to either upgrade to XP or "downgrade" to 98 SE if you have the chance.

As for the internet, you could buy a cheap USB Wi-Fi dongle. Those are usually around $10 from eBay when bought from chinese sellers but they take a couple weeks for shipping so if you are in a hurry you might have no option but to buy one from a local store.

You have to get either an air card or an Ethernet cord and plug it into a router. The air cord WILL cost money to get and use.

I'd personally upgrade to XP and buy a USB wireless stick. Just make sure it's compatible with XP. It should say on the box. USB sick shouldnt be that much at like a Walmart or best buy.

Upgrade or downgrade it. You can use a ethernet cable to connect the router to the PC, or you can buy a WiFi external card or USB adapter.

Uninstall Windows 2000 and get Linux, or you could play Fallout 2 on it, your choice. You will probably need something else to connect it to a router.
