I haven't read a lot focusing entirely on being gay (not intentionally, of course), but the first one that comes to mind is Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. And I didn't like David Levithan's contribution too much...

There was a book about a gay teenager in a homophobic state, and he moved there from Rhode Island I believe. He met a guy there, hated his alcoholic dad, was a great writer, went to a state writing competition, wrote about being gay, and abandoned the guy (didn't say he loved him back). For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the book.

I actually haven't read any yet! But I have a list! It's just, these books, I probably wouldn't find anywhere other than the Internet, and I buy my Internet things through my Mum and I'm a bit embarrassed if they have obvious titles or covers, even though I'm out to her. :P

Books with a gay/trans focus that I want:
Annie On My Mind - Nancy Garden (lesbian)
Ash - Melinda Lo (lesbian)
Boyfriends With Girlfriends - Alex Sanchez (bisexual, gay, lesbian)
Peter - Kate Walker (gay) (Australian, woo)
Parrotfish - Ellen Wittlinger (trans)
Boy Meets Boy - David Levithan (gay)
Rainbow Boys - Alex Sanchez (gay)

There are also a few others but I've lost the names of them, and this list is too short for me, I want to read way books with a LGBTQ+ focus. :(

I have a book called Fingersmith, though. It's not a 'gay book' as far as I'm aware, but it does have a lesbian relationship between two main characters, but that's not the main focus.. Or maybe it is.. Details about this book have been sketchy and I've been told there are a million plot twists I'll never see coming.

Julie Anne peters is a great lesbian author. She does write books that have gay guys in it but they are usually set around lesbians. One of her books is about a transgender from guy to girl. The book i read by her is Rage: A Love Story about a girl who likes this girl that she thinks is out of her league, but end up going out but realizes that the girl is abusive towards her because of her family situation. It's a really good book:)
