I posted a topic several days ago with a poem I wrote, this is the finished version, much has been taken our/added/changed. There are two versions, each with different endings.
Version 1:
Life is a void, of darkness and misery.
Within it there is no purpose.
There are ups, and there are downs,
but the good is outweighed by things that hurt us.
Life is a journey, a quest to embark on.
A path that will twist and bend.
The injuries we sustain can all be healed,
But there are some wounds that we cannot mend.
Blinded by our own thoughts,
Sometimes they shine too bright.
It is difficult to see what lies ahead,
When darkness consumes the light.
A mask put on when it is day,
To keep our feelings out of sight.
A mask taken off when it is dark,
We can only be our true selves at night.
There is too much evil in this world,
Too much to count on fingers.
When happiness comes, it soon recedes,
When sadness comes, it lingers.
Evil is triumphant, sadness is prevalent,
Happiness is done for.
We may have hope, but in the end,
We live to die and nothing more.
Version 2:
Life is a void, of darkness and misery.
Within it there is no purpose.
There are ups, and there are downs,
but the good is outweighed by things that hurt us.

There is too much evil in this world,
Too much to count on fingers.
When happiness comes, it soon recedes,
When sadness comes, it lingers.
Time passes as the days go by,
And each day I patiently await.
For a certain day to come,
The one that seals my fate.
Which ending do you prefer?
Any feedback, positive or negative, is appreciated.
