The father who shopped son to police after he ran up a £3,700 bill playing games on his iPad

When he discovered he had run up a £3,700 bill on his father’s credit card playing games on his iPad, Cameron Crossan expected a very stern telling off at least.
The 13-year-old was mortified by what he had done – but worse was to come. For instead of punishing him, his father filed an official police complaint effectively accusing him of fraud.
Doug Crossan, 48, said he was horrified when his credit card company informed him of the amount his son had spent on the games in Apple’s online App Store.

That's stupid: what does he think will happen, his son will go to juvenile hall?

Oh hell....its not like they aren't warned about being charged. I specifically remember seeing something like

"Confirm Your In-App Purchase. Do you want to buy __________ for $0.99?"

It isn't rocket surgery, people.

On most apps it should say a price that each in app purchase should be. Before even clicking what you want to buy it should say if there is a price or not.

How could he not know? Even my little brother, who's just a year younger than this kid, would know if he will get charged.

The kid must of known! Apple are pretty clear. Fair enough if the kids 5 but at 13 you would know! Saying that I reckon a police report is a bit extreme!

The kid definetly knew he was being charged. There is no way he couldn't. Everything that I have seen in the App Store (Apple and Android) clearly says the price and asks you if you want it charged. But charging him for fraud is a bit absurd as well.
