The silence is insane

I used to live in the city. For anyone whose spent time in the city knows how noisy it can get. I moved near the end of summer when it was time to close the windows. All I would hear is nothing or crickets. I couldn't sleep and frankly it drove me crazy. Hard to explain but I'm sure we've all been through something like that. Well that time of year of opening windows is coming up and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle the quietness. How can I calm myself or cope with this? The country is nothin like the city.

I've had something similar, I can't deal with silence one bit so I usually run a fan at all times, cold or not.
