I think in the help and advice, in VT general hospital there should be a subforum for people who have a serious disease, like cancer and cystic fibrosis. I suggest this because I have a very good friend who is dying from cancer, and if there was a forum for it she might be able to talk about it. And I think that anyone here who has something serious would love to be able to talk to others who have it, and share their experiences. And for people who's friends of family are ill, maybe someone could enlighten us as to what will happen to them. So does anyone else think we should have a serious disease subforum?

EDIT: Accidentally posted this in the wrong place, sorry. Can an admin please move it to suggestions?

VTHQ  Suggestions.

While this idea sounds great on paper, I'm not too sure how practical or useful it'd be. It would likely receive little traffic, just as the ADHD and Schizophrenia subforums do. If your have any ideas on how to avoid that problem, please post, as I cannot think of any :P

But they are there if anyone needs them. I support this idea.

I think the posts fit in VT:GH just fine, and I don't really think adding another subforum is necessary. Basically for the reasons Steven said.

I don't really understand what it would achieve though by having an additional section. I mean it would give them a chance to discuss their illness etc but to me it would in VT:GH just fine. If they were suffering from depression due to the disease then they could post it in the Depression Section etc.

I'm not sure what an individual section would achieve.

It's a good idea, but like others have stated, how active in "traffic" would it be? How many people on VT, have a serious disease, some many wouldn't want to talk about it. I myself, rarely see people post, saying they have cancer, or say cystic fibrosis, etc. But that's just my two cents.

I get what you're all saying. It probably wouldn't get much traffic.

I don't really think the lack of traffic is the main issue with this suggestion, but more so the fact that these topics are rarely posted and when they are they fit just fine into the VT General Hospital. What do you think would be better on a site -- a bunch of dead sections that get used once in a while for a very specific topic, or one general section that covers all of those topics and gets used often? I think members have a much better chance of having their threads read/responded to in the second option.
