What happened???

So I have a coby digital tv hooked upto basic cable through a line. I turned to a channel, 123.133 and the Hobbit is on. I saw rewinding amd then a little bit of fast forwarding and then the movie paused for a minute or so before playing. I am in the US. What is happening am I picking up someone else's tv feed or something? Is it an illegal private channel, what?

There's a good chance you may be accidentally picking up someone's TV feed. Whatever it is, I wouldn't use it too much just in case there's some obscure law regarding it.
