Hi there,
Sometimes my genital area smells and I'm wondering if this is normal? I wash it thoroughly everyday with soap etc but it still smells slightly.
Bit of background: I am 15, cut with short trimmed pubes <-- if that helps at all
Just wondering if maybe I should see a doctor about it or if its normal at my age

It's just because that part of the body is so enclosed and that, so its bound to become sweaty after even a short amount of time, which leads to bad smells. i think using some talc on the balls would help with that!

If the odor is minor and there's no itching or redness, it's normal. Otherwise you could have a yeast infection.

Its a pretty warm, moist environment, which is perfect for bacteria growth. Even if you wash it regularly, it will never smell great. I mean have you ever heard someone say "Wow my crotch smells great!" Probably not.

I've been using talcum/gold bond powder on my scrotum every morning and it really helps to keep things from getting too sweaty and smelly. Just be careful if you use the medicated kind lol

The kind of deodorant that you wear under your arm yes but I wouldn't recommend the kind that has a ball that spins to applicate. But I use secret its made for women strong enough for men and don't smell at all and it keeps me form smelling and it is cheaper then men's clinical strength and works better than it too...

I meant the stick roll-on deodorant, not the ball. Underarm type. Wait the women's deodorant that is assumed to be more expensive, too feminine, and weaker, works better, is cheaper, and smells fairly well?

I think it's because the sweat can't get out of your area because of undergarments. This results to sweat drying up and having a certain odor.

TRy putting on a cotton underwear which absorbs sweat and keeps the area cool.

I wear hi tech moisture whicking underwear (ex officio) and I still get smells, it's better than with a cotton or poly fabric, but not perfect. Isn't it important for your balls to sweat to control sperm temperature?

I used to use Gillette clinical strength and it would last maybe 3 weeks cost right at $8.00 a bottle and would only work for half a day... The woman's is just over $4.00 for a soft gel that works even after I take a bath and last about two months

I wonder why the exspensive men's version did not hold up so well? Oh, that is not to be expected right?

This,
The area will never smell wonderful. The best thing to do is shower at least once a day and twice if you're doing anything extra such as sports or stuff like that.
