Hey everyone, I am 17, I weigh 219 lbs., and I am 5' 11". I go to the gym about 4-5 days a week, for around 2 hours each day (give or take 15 minutes). I have Amplified Whey Protein each workout day, and am currently on my 3rd week of creatine (3rd set, 1 month on, 1 month off). I recently bought Animal Flex- Joint support, Muscle Pharm Shred Matrix, Now Sports ZMA, and Driven Sports Craze. I have a healthy diet and have lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks. I play baseball, and I do martial arts, which by the way, I have a Brown belt test coming up on May 27th (5 hour test. YIKES!) I just want to know about any good supplements that you guys use (Pre-workout, post-workout, recovery, etc.) Thanks!

First of all, creatine is a bad idea unless you are drinking an insane amount of water because it can cause you to become dehydrated. also, your body can become dependent upon it and its really not good for you (a lot of creatine anyways)

i personally recommend advocare muscle gain and post workout recovery

its good stuff. expensive, at around $50 a month, but it works and well too

He didn't ask for you to tell him how bad creatine is for him. Ad you can't become dependent if you cycle it in a smart way.

Anyways

I believe you've got a good mix of helpful supplements. Personally all I use is Jack3d and creatine. Pre workout I take jack3d cuz it seems to really help keep me focused on the workout and power through the entire thing at my best. Pre workout I also take creatine, also after the workout.
I cycle my creatine and when I restart I prefer to supersaturated for the first week by taking doses way higher than normal, I'm talking 40 grams a day for the first week. And then lowering the level, the following week. I drink several gallons of water when I do this though for safety. My routine works for me, and if yours is working for you then keep it going man. GET BIG! Haha

All you need is Whey or Creatine, Whey preferably.
The other supplements offering things with kewl scientific names often do nothing.

1. 2 hours a day working out is rediculous, no weight training session should last more than 1 hour.

2. You only need Protein and maybe Creatine and BCAA's. That is 100% all you need. The rest is just wasting your money for little benefit.

He never specified weight training, he could be doing cardio and weight training at the gym in that case 2 hours is perfectly reasonable.

Yes, but if someone is using pre and post workout supplements to use a treadmill, they have bigger issues haha.

He repeatedly was talking about using supplements only on workout days and since he was talking about creatine, protein, other supps like Craze. It would only make sense in the context of him talking about weight training workouts.

you're 17, why do you need a pre workout sup? Us teens are full of energy.

Anyway, From what i've read Jak3d is a good Pre-workout sup. I took it once to see what it was like cause my mate bought it and you could feel it work, Make my arm all tingly aha.

Gold standard whey is pretty good for after your workout. And Casein is a good slow release protein for while you're sleeping. Multi-Vitamins, Fish oil and BCAA's are always a good thing.

Casein is generally pointless, slow release is a marketing ploy not backed up by anything.

SOunds like a good routine you have going there just make sure you dont burn yourself out, like each body part needs 24hours rest so say one day you do chest, biecps and tricepts the next day do legs, sholders and latts but mix it all up with fittness using the tredmill, rowing and bike machines. I use serious mass and anibolic (if thats spelt right) serious mass adds weight for new starters and gains pretty quickly were anibolic is for toning up, i also do 12weeks on 1 month of you notice better difference. Hope it helps

A lot of my friends take Creatine and Animal Stak - I hardly know anything about Animal Stak but go for Creatine... Just drink lots of water with it and in general be careful to not lift too much because the added strength can add additional strain your muscles which they won't be used to which could potentially cause injuries.

Good luck getting shredded brah

really no such thing as a 'good' supplement. if at all possible, you should just try to get that stuff from you diet. if as you say you eat healthy, then dont take excess supplements, itll only prove counterproductive

When I first started weightlifting I use to take amplified. It was good but didnt have enough amino's. they gave me some amino acid pills but I got tired of it an it wasn't enough. So I started to take fusion 7 by dynamic and I got good results. I also take jet mass creatine witch is the BEST! And amino x by bsn before I go to bed! By the way, I was in a slump and didn't know why so I talked to a nutritionist and it was my poor diet. When u are at school it's very important to eat a GREAT lunch/breakfast! Lots of carbs so u have energy and u will get better results!
