So I sometimes see that a staff member closes a thread because 'its older than two months' but yet there are threads that are older than me (jk lol) and are not locked. There might be an explanation somewhere and my apologies for not noticing it. Anyway, so my question is... what does 'thread older than two months' mean? Does it mean that when the thread was started, nobody can post two months after the date? or that nobody can post after two months from that last post made on that thread? lol sorry if it's confusing but thanks for answering :)

I know that lol, but there's a bunch of threads older than two months and people are still posting. That's why I asked, if its not acceptable to post after the last post made is older than two months or when the thread itself is older than two months.

Okay, so this thread was posted on March 22nd. on May 22nd which is 2 months from now, it will be locked if posted on again. This rule does not apply to most diaries and ALL arcade threads. It is very strictly monitered in P101. That however does not mean to ignore it in places like The White Padded Room or Ramblings Of The Wise.

I guess I understand it a bit more, but why isn't this thread locked? (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=162275)

Why would this thread be locked? As far as I can, none of the posts are more than 2 months apart...

The thread may be several months old but that doesn't mean it gets locked. If there is less than 2 months between each posts the thread is not bumped and therefore will not get locked. This is the case with that thread.

Lol I guess you didn't read my first post or the whole reason why this thread was created. I was asking if when the thread itself is two months old, nobody can post afterwards or if when the last post made on that thread is older than two months it is unacceptable to post. But that's enough, I get it now...

It's the last post made. Of course, the original creator of the thread can still post in it.

So I guess the answer to my question is (for those of you who wonder this same question in the future):

If the last post made on that thread is older than two months, it is unacceptable to post/bump that thread.

Question solved.

To double clarify:

On any forums EXCEPT diaries and P101 - Questions for Both Boys and Girls, and the arcade, the rule is no posting if the last post was more than 2 months ago.
Diaries can be set by the owner.
P101 - Questions for Both Boys and Girls has a 3 month bump limit, instead of 2.
And as said, there is none for the arcade.
