I'm writing an essay about how gender roles affect bullying and it's consequences. I need to "interview" people about their experience with bullying. What better way to do so through a survey.

Gender:

What age/grade were you bullied?:

Was your bully female or male?:

How did they bully you? (i.e. spread rumors, physically beat, etc)?:

If you had bullies of both gender, how were the tactics of both genders different? (how would you describe the differences between the way they bullied you):

If you had bullies of both gender, which gender was harder to overcome?

Why did they bully you?

Did you tell anyone who could help (I.e a teacher, parent):

If so, how did they react? Did they help, ignore, or hinder you?

Did the bully/ies get in trouble for what they did?

If so (and you had two different gendered bullies) did you notice a difference in punishment for the two?:

Ive had past experiences with bullies, but apparently it's not sufficient enough to make a credible argument. This will help out a bunch.

Gender: Female.

What age/grade were you bullied?: 9-14.

Was your bully female or male?: Both; group.

How did they bully you? (i.e. spread rumors, physically beat, etc)?: Sexual harassment, "playful" threats of rape, rumor spreading, petty things like hiding assignments and backpacks, constant names.

If you had bullies of both gender, how were the tactics of both genders different? (how would you describe the differences between the way they bullied you): The males tended to be more sexual, aggressive, and up front about it, whereas the females preferred "safer", less noticeable methods like name calling, exclusion, rumor spreading, etc.

If you had bullies of both gender, which gender was harder to overcome?: Male.

Why did they bully you?: Developing faster than the other kids/hitting puberty at an early age, having large breasts, having a large butt, being "curvier" than a girl that age "should" be.

Did you tell anyone who could help (I.e a teacher, parent): No.

If so, how did they react? Did they help, ignore, or hinder you?: N/A.

Did the bully/ies get in trouble for what they did?: Not very often.

If so (and you had two different gendered bullies) did you notice a difference in punishment for the two?: The males were generally pushed aside as "boys being boys," or I was blamed for it for "being so developed and not covering up/acting unladylike;" the girls were told to stop gossiping, and they often got worse punishments, but it was still a matter of "girls will be girls."
