Hey sorry if I explain/ask this in a awkward way, im just a awkward person .-. Anyway is being in a relationship online with someone you havnt met but know really well unusual? Just wondering, ive been on cam and skype with some but thats it. Ive had a few online relationships and some real life ones -surprising- anyway is it unsusual or do some people actually do this too?

I know a few people that are in them. Pretty normal. :)

It's pretty common actually, I'm in one and am a member of this other forum that's for long distance relationships and you'd be surprised how many of the members have never met their boyfriend in person or hadn't met when they started dating.

I don't consider it a relationship if you don't physically see and spend time together. No matter how great you get along online, that doesn't mean anything in the real world. They way people interact with each other on a daily basis is what makes a relationship to me.

I had a cousin who was in a online relationship who was basically in love with this girl, flew all the way out to NY to meet this girl and she was a horrble person. So..Online Relationships arent that great in my opinion

couldnt have said it better i think. i dont know anyone (not online) that is on that type of relationship, so i guess its not that normal. maybe its not that normal where i live.

i think you can be friends with someone you've met online and have nice chats and all....but its not the same as someone you know in real life. i will admit that sometimes i'm more open with online friends...because we'll likely never meet i'm not so worried about being judged.

Just one question and thats if you only know this person from online how can you say you really know this person? For myself I don't believe you can truly know someone unless you spend some time together in the real world. Unfortunately online relationships have become a norm for some but I think every minute you invest on an online relationship that has no chance of actually shifting to a face to face relationship is time thrown away. Don't squander time; it is the stuff life is made of...

It's fine, but you do need to keep in mind that people often act quite differently in person than they do online. Even if you're Skyping or whatever, you never really know what they're like away from the computer screen.

Works for some. But still it's a huge difference if you can really see each other in person.

I agree with other posters. How someone is online can be VERY different to how they are in person, AFK :P
I know everyone is different, but I wouldnt consider someone my gf until Ive actually met them in person. And if they live in another country, other state, etc with very little chance of seeing them you're potentially throwing you feeling away. I know it wont feel like that at the time but there are bound to be people in the real world much closer to you, but if you're locked away online all the time you'll never meet them. Theres still something to be said for real, face to face, human interaction ;)

I don't know anything about relationships (much as I'd like to) :-(
but I do know that online ain't real. End of.
Escape the matrix it can mess with your head. Live in the real world.
