Ehm... So What Do I Do?

Let me set you guys up a bit. I'm this kind of guy who has friends and gets on with everyone well, I don't tend to go out much, and when I do, I just meet a couple of (male) friends. Then there's this girl, who goes to my class. I used to sit next to her and we built up a friendship, but He's in a separate group and Neither her wouldnt fit in mine or me in hers. Recently we changed seats and she was moved, and I kind of developed feelings for her. I wouldn't like to rush on things but i'd like to let her know i'm there. We have been chatting over phones, but I go blank after the "how are you doing? Good". As said for now i'd just want to let her know i'm there and approach to her but I've never been into a similar thing.

What would you guys recommend?

That's a good first step. it's what I'd do, except my crush: a, isn't in any of my academic classes, and b, hates me. I really can't stop thinking about her, though I know I have to. Any tips for me? It's hard because she's on my bus and I see her in the halls every day. It hurts so much. :'(

Ask her to hang out sometime so you can get to know her better. Don't make it anything fancy or formal. Just something relaxing and basic will work. Shoot for something you both have in common.

Thing is I don't tend to hang out much, which brings several issues:

1. How to ask? (It's not a date so I think I can solve this myself)
2. I live outside the city, and I need someone to take me there, this means my mum or dad will take me. Once again I don't think they ask, but if they do don't really know what excuse to say.
3. I have never met her so I don't know if It'll be a bit awkward at first

So yeah...
