So I am planning a new system build with (tentatively an i5-3570k) and a GTX 660. Is it worth upgrading to an i7 or a 660Ti? I don't do a lot of gaming and when I do it's usually on xbox/360 since they are more consistent. What does VT think?

Depends what kind of games you're going for. If you're going for complete power drainers then it's wise to make an upgrade otherwise if your computer copes fine with games you're already playing, there isn't much point.

I personally think a GFX card is usually better than a i5 to i7 jump.

The i5 is awesome. i7 has hyperthreading, that will lag out your gaming a bit. I recommend any i5 k so you can overclock it. Go with a 660Ti, or maybe a 7950

I feel i7 is just too much that does too little.

Sounds like I'm going to stay with the i5 and 660. Thanks everyone for the help.
