Hey.
I posted something abour abortion today. Now I don't stand for abortion only because my nefew, cousin and other family members have been aborted. (it was that jill-the-baby-but-still-give-birth-to-it thing)
I believe every woman has rights to her own body. Like me. I could be raped by my brother RIGHT NOW and concieve but not kill the baby. It's just me.
But already people went on a tangent. 'its not alive. What about rape victims? You can't tell me it's a person'
Well... It's my life. You all believe in freedom of choice... But you make me believe what you do? Isn't my view of abortion MY view, not yours?

Why yes they do. But that's okay. It's fun sometimes.

Personally I agree with you. If I was raped, I'd still have the baby. If I couldn't stand raising it, I'd give it up for adoption, but I would never kill the baby. It's not his/her fault that some man raped me, why should it be denied the chance to live?

One who aborts is not infringing on your right not to abort, assuming that is what you are getting at. Nobody is trying to convince you to get an abortion. We are simply trying to convince you that the choice should be the woman's not the government's. You have the right to believe whatever you want, having a belief does not infringe on the rights of others. Just because someone holds an opposing view does not mean they are infringing on your rights. Even trying to convince you to change your views by sharing our views is not an infringement of your rights.
This is either going to turn into a debate on rights or a debate on abortion and my money is on the latter. Why close a debate and then start another with the exact same topic?

Let's look at this abstractly. If we assume that the fetus is in fact a living breathing human, it has the right to live. On the other hand, the woman has the right to her body. Which individual's rights are more important? If we look at existing laws the answer is clear. If a women does not want that baby there (this does not apply to a women who wants to keep the child) that baby is infringing on her right to her body. This is basically the definition of rape. If the women decides to end the life of the fetus how is this any different from self defense? If you want to portray the fetus as a human, fine. It gets all the benefits of a human, but it also gets the consequences.

What people on this forum don't understand is personal choice. They understand it to the point that their decisions are their decisions, but when they see someone else making a decision for themselves, all hell breaks loose in their mind. It's really funny when pseudo-liberal/progressive teens try to figure things like this out, so don't worry about it too much.

You're right. Every woman has rights to their own body. You are against abortion, so you won't ever get one. But it should still be a choice and it's better if it's safe and legal - otherwise women would resort back to the dangerous methods.

If you don't want an abortion, don't get one. But don't try making all abortions illegal just because you don't want one. It's the same deal with gay marriage. Enforcing your beliefs on others because you don't like what they're doing or you wouldn't do what they're doing, so they can't, either. It'd be like you, being anti abortion, being forced to have one because other people disagree with your opinion.

Why would you post on the debating section if you didn't want people to comment or oppose your views?
Also it's interesting you point out that it's your view..... I'm sure a lot of women argue that it's there body.

Right, as if you two are the saviors who are better than the rest of the forum and know how everything should be.
The OP has nothing to do with a debate, and you're basically asking for trouble, which is not really acceptable here. :locked:
