The Samsung Galaxy S4 has produced the highest benchmark scores yet recorded, thanks to Qualcomm’s processor.
Using the popular Geekbench 2 programmes to produce an independent measure of smartphone speed, John Poole of Primate Labs compared the relative performance of various phones. He found the S4 scored 3163, beating the new HTC One’s 2687 as well as the Google Nexus 4 and the previous Galaxy model, the S3.
Apple’s iPhone 5 was ranked fifth on 1596. The original iPhone scored 130 when it was launched six years ago.
The website Android Authority ran Geekbench 2 last week and posted the results on YouTube.
