It's not gay. For old people, it is, but ear-piercing is completely an artistic way of expressing one's fashion sense. Just be sure you're comfortable with the idea of having your ears pierced.

Getting ear piercings do not make you look gay, and there are plenty of straight guys who get piercings. You'll be fine if you get ear piercings, and chances are no one will say anything other than to compliment you on how you look.

Clothing or other fashion statements are not gay, loving another man intimately would gay(not that there is anything wrong with that). Be yourself and screw the "haters". I myself dress in a very 80s hair-metal inspired fashion, I get alot of crap for wearing skinny jeans, bandanas, having both ears pierced, and having long hair, but I'm straight. Fashion does not make ones sexual orientation change.
