i am jealous

I am a little jealous of my friends because they all have siblings and I don't. I have not always been in the happiest family of my life and have always wanted to have some siblings to get support from. Everybody is so lucky that they have someone to turn to when they need help. I on the other hand have to rely on myself to do everything.

I'm not sure if your asking for advise or what but i can give you my thoughts on this subject. Being an only child can be difficult and there's not a lot you can do about this since it's a choice made by your parents fo one reaon or another. There are some advantages to not having a house full of siblings some of which are you get more attention from your parents, and without other children in the house means more money to be spent on you for birthdays and holidays. From what you say about not being in the happiest family i'm not sure this apples to you. As an only child, you may grow up to be more independent and able to fend for yourself better, if your parents haven't spoiled you by tending to your each and every need. Not having an older sibling to help you every step of the way may in that sense be beneficial and make you capable of looking after yourself earlier in life. Therefore, being an only child can certainly have its advantages. On the other side of the coin Perhaps the most apparent disadvantage of being an only child is the feeling of loneliness - not having a sibling to play with regularly and to be able to share your thoughts and memories with. When your parents are no longer around, not having a sibling to talk about things with or look up to for any kind of help or support can be quite a disadvantage. One thing that seems constant is that a child that has brothers and or sisters share one thing and thats at times they wish they were an only child and and the only child like yourself wishes they had siblings

Being an only child like most other things has ups and downs. Your family for one has less bills to pay, children require a lot of attention and money if you want them to grow up and become successful. It's sucks not having people in your family you can relate to. there is unfortunately you can't change it unless your parents do. Even though you see the bad sides of not having siblings try to see your benefits and don't focus on the negatives so much. You have extra attention, better life style and many other things that families with multiple children can only try to maintain.

Hmmmm, i think your you need to have a look at the disadvantages like at Christmas you may not get lost of money as who gives it to you may also split it with the siblings, i honestly dont like my to younger brothers or my 2nd eldest. I have an older brother but hes got his own place, also think about it.... you may have to share a room -_-

i wish they would tend to all my wants because everybody else seems to be getting all the cool stuff like smartphones and ipods and video games and pokemon. my friend received a pack of pokemon cards on his birthday and all i got on my birthday was a celebration with my parents at a restaurant and some pictures taken. i didn't invite anyone and even if i could, i would not want to celebrate at home but in a public place. i think my house looks crappy and my friends would just bitch about it.

yeah they say i get all the attention. yeah that's what they think!
and today is one of my acquaintance's birthday. he did not invite me to his birthday party and i just feel so left out. yeah honestly i hope his cake falls.

It's alright to be jealous but there's nothing you can do about this. Just see the good side of being an only child and you'll appreciate it more. :)

I'm an only child too. However I have a friend who is like a brother to me. In fact I have many. Maybe go to your friends for advice?

people in general seem to be much more fortunate than I am. they have their brothers and sisters to rely on plus they don't have to worry about finding a job alone because they'll always have family to stick by them whereas being an only child makes me sob often, always longing for a brother or sister to be my friend.
