my crush

Hi, my story is kind of hard to explain but I will try to be as clear as possible.
So first of all i would like to say i have a crush on a girl that i don't really know. well I have some what known her in a sense i mean i had math with her all 6th grade (we're in 8th grade now) i also had P.E in the same year, that's when i started to notice her i really didn't care at the time i was like shes pretty but didn't say much to her or even try to hang out with her (I did not start hanging with girls until last year) well any ways I had science with her first semester of this year, well i got to talk to her a few times (mostly academic) and well i feel really attracted to her but i haven't talked to her in a while (like a real conversation). my question is how do i start talking to her without feeling awkward should i use Facebook? i kind of want to avoid a personal conversation for now but am planing to do that when i "break the ice" when i think of contacting her through Facebook i then think what if shes like "you talking to me, or hey you know i'm me right." so what should i do.:confused:

PS. I have never had a girlfriend and am usually shy around girls i don't know.

Just relax and chill out dude. A conversation can start with the subject of academics and before you know it you can be talking about personal stuff. Don't be awkward, just make a few jokes. Jokes are great when trying to talk to someone new. Start regular conversations but let them evolve into much more. Best of luck!
