Is there an average for frequency regarding sexual encounters for couples? My BF and I have seen a drop off in that area and his drive seems to be very low. His Doc said his Testosterone levels are somewhat lower than they should be which is odd for a guy his age.

Everyone is different. It's common to do it alot at first and less after the honeymoon period is over.

It is completely natural for it to decay as time passes, also seasons are to blame, mood swings when seasons are changing will affect many aspects of your life, including your sexual life.

His sexual drive will increase once the doctor corrects his deficiency. But might also go low again next fall.

This has been going on for a bit now. It took so much convincing from me for him to see a doctor. He was embarassed. Thought he was less of a man etc etc... Doctor said his testicles may just not be producing enough so either way we hope to get it resolved.

I think normal is what works for the couple. I think sexual encounters do drop off after a long time relationship and especially in marriage. People plain get busier with lives, jobs, families, ect.. At least that is what I have read and heard on talk shows and stuff.

Can't really say whats going on in your particular case since i don't have enough information such as your ages and how long you been seeing each other but as others have already said relationships are normally more passionate in the beginning and tend to cool off after being together for an extended period of time. If you believe the articles in Cosmo, a womans sex life is almost non exsitent after 5 or more years of marriage unless she has a lot of batteries. I think the key to keeping romance in a relationship is trying new things and this is only limited buy your imagination.

Sexual drives go up and down all the time. And you're getting to know and care about each other better and that's a good thing.
