yes, virgins can use tampons. whether to use pads or tampons, its really just a personal choice. I actually use both depending on how heavy it is and what activities I'm doing.

It's a personal preference but they do make a slim tampon for girls that haven't had sex only bad thing is if your having a heavy flow you may still need to back these up with a mini pad and change more often than regular tampons

Well i guess it's good to have a bf thats not grossed out about your period but isn't this a little extreme?

Because I'm small I use pads because even slim tampons feel very uncomfortable and difficult to insert. But I'm intending to use tampons as soon as I can.

Tampons just feel gross, all plugged up with a bloody squishy thing? Pass
More of a bacterial risk etc
Gross either way of course
Personal preference, try a few of each I guess and go from there

Tampons are best for me with dancing and volley ball. You just get used to them.

I tried a tampon once and it hurt like the fires of Hades. I am sticking to pads.

I prefer tampons, but sometimes I might use pads as well.

This is really interesting. I thought all the older girls here would prefer tampons, but it doesn't seem like it. So I might stick with pads even when I'm bigger down there.

I started wearing tampons about 2 years ago and I'm a still a virgin, I just don't like pads, tampons just take some getting used to I guess

I prefer tampons too. They're very comfy and easy to use. I wear a panty liner also just to be safe.

I use tampons and it doesn't really matter if your a virgin or not but do remember that if you still have your hymen, you may have a little trouble getting a tampon in or all the way in. I'm also a virgin but I no longer have my hymen or I can't feel it anyway.

I use tampons all the time I stopped using pads when I was like 13-14 and tampons doesn't feel as nasty at least to me... Hope this helped :)

To OP: I suggest you try the smaller tampons, and if you feel like they are too big or uncomfortable, then use pads. If you want to try something less conventional, you could try the diva cup. I am planning on getting one soon, and I've heard nothing but good reviews!

Pads. I have a weird fear of tampons getting "stuck" in there for some reason.

Yeah, you can~
I recommend the ones with the smooth plastic thing around it... More comfortable.

I use tampons and I'm still a virgin but some girls with their hymen intact may have a little trouble getting one in. or it may not fit all the way in at all. I'm pretty sure that I broke my hymen years ago during sports or horseback riding or something and never knew it.

I only use pads because tampons feel uncomfortable. Yes, you can use tampons if you're a virgin and no they don't make you lose your virginity. It might hurt or feel weird the first time but as long as you insert it slowly and get used to it, they should be good. In my opinion they're just not worth getting used to the discomfort, pads are easier for me personally.

Never used a pad as tampons work fine for me -- I'd say relax the first few times you use them. They're more discrete, easier to carry and if you know your bleeding and when to change it -- it seems great and not messy

tampons all the way, i just find them far more comfortable and effective than pads but there are some months that they aren't enough and you need a pad aswell

I tried using tampons when I got my first period and they just wouldn't fit in and I even used the plastic applicator instead of the cardboard. I think it might be because I was still a virgin and I still had my hymen, started playing softball, soccer, and volleyball and in about a year I was using a tampon. I'm pretty sure that sports tore my hymen during that time making tampon access.
