In many countries, males of all ages wear either Speedos or Swim Briefs more often than swim trunks, and the women wear more revealing swimwear compared to Americans.
Why is that? Cultural differences?

And what about you?
Girls, bikini or one-piece? Cute, girly, revealing, or classic?
Boys, trunks or speedo? Swimmer's competition, cool factor, classic or revealing?
Any opinions?

Okay, so you know how you can pek down a girls shirt and see some clevage? Well if you do that with my swimming trunks (looking down the wasteband,) then you can see some of my stuff there.

If I'm just hanging out and swimming with friends than I'm in trunks. If I'm swimming laps and circuits for my navy contract then I'm in a speedo to reduce drag.

I think the reason the cultures are different is because of the way that bodies are perceived and the over sexualization of bodies, especially women. If the body isn't very sexualized, you can run around naked and no one would bat an eyelid, alternatively though, when bodies are over sexualized like in America and Australia, people either 1) want to cover up to not be seen in a sexual way or 2) reveal as much as they can without indecent exposure can so they CAN be seen in a sexual way, usually because the we see beauty as a top priority, and to be seen in a sexual way is usually to be seen as attractive. Although there will be people in seem like they come under the second option, they can fall under a third; not wanting to wear much in the water because it weighs you down, sticks to you, it's annoying as hell, so it's easier to wear nothing, but how sexualized they feel will usually depend on what country their in, their age and other factors as well.

So, yeah, that's my guess.

I either wear a one piece or a tankini. As long as it covers my stomach. A lot of times too, I wear a pair of shorts instead of or over the actual bathing suit bottoms. If I was a few sizes smaller, I'd probably wear a bikini, but as it is, I just want my stomach to be covered. I don't care if it's a little revealing up top though.

I wear a bikini, but they usually aren't that revealing. I'm not a tanner. I'd rather walk a beach than lay on it. Most of the day I have shorts and a T over it. I wear it to get some sun, but mainly, to go in the water if I get hot.

yeah i just wear trunks that kinda come down around my knee... i wouldnt mind speedos but outside of competitive swimmers guys around here usually dont wear them, plus i currently dont really have the body to rock a speedo lol. but yeah i think america is just kinda uptight about sexuality and nudity and stuff like that.

Various things in school we have to wear a one piece, if I go with my friends swimming I always get bottoms one size smaller so they fit better and show of my arse more. If with family mixture of both but never a thong tbh in my local pool that would be suicide

usually I wear briefs or jammers at the swimming pool and shorts at the beach. but if everyone wore briefs all the time, I sure would too :D

cut offs are jeans with the legs cut off that's why they are called cut offs if you want to call them shorts then call them shorts.
The bathing suit or trunks mom gets me has a nylon liner its like briefs. I hate it so I cut it out.

I like both but each has their own purposes.

Obviously the speedo is great for exercise and lap-swimming. But I like to wear it to the beach when tanning or lounging. Why would I want to come back from the beach with white thighs?

The swim trunks are for basically everything else. Typically, I'll wear a speedo under my trunks or board shorts for comfort and if the opportunity comes to wear the speedo by itself.
