I am a junior in high school so it's about that time that I start looking at colleges. I already know that I will be majoring in music performance in school and I dont want to go to any ivy leagues but I do want to go a good school.

But only problem is that I dont know what I'm looking for. I asked my parents to help me check out colleges and they said they would, but haven't even done so yet. My guidance counselor told me to come to her in the spring because she was "too busy with seniors" so that's out of the question (at least for another few weeks). Only school I have in mind is UCF because that's the school my music director graduated from and speaks so highly about.

Can someone direct me in the right way. I don't know what i should be looking for in a college, how I should be ruling others out, etc.

Well, you need to do some research on what colleges have music majors. Ohh and also if you have a career center at your school, go there because they would have all the colleges and majors and if you ask the person who works in that section they would know what type of colleges would be good for that. You really need to just go out and look for it.

Look into the schools within your state. They are much cheaper for you since you're a resident of that state. Look if they have a program then do some Google research about how good it is. Also, see if you can go on some visits or if they have a day where they invite highschoolers to visit.
