not entirely sure if this should go here but...
have you ever been asked why you're not camp (assuming you're not) even though you're gay/bi? i.e. other people have assumed that the camp stereotype is universally true for us, because i an often told i need to be camper because im gay?

I think, tell me if i'm wrong, camp is the idea of a stereotypical "gay" guy. You know, with the sassy walk and floppy wrists... Urban Dictionary defines it as "the art of acting 'gay' without necessarily being gay."

I'm not camp at all, but then again I am not out. I wouldn't be camp if I were out anyway. This is my natural demeanour. One gay guy in my school, you can see, acts camp purely for attention because he never used to.

ffs, he means people would expect him to be a lot more camp because of his sexuality. It's a stupid stereotype, brought together with an early comedy movie where a gay guy was shown as the kind of 'bouncing off the walls' attitude that has recently gained the name 'camp'.

It's a severely stupid, unoriginal and outdated stereotype and the sad part is that some gay guys conform to that.
