So I noticed after I stopped using Proactiv my skin started to peel. I didn't quit, I just couldn't use it Saturday or Sunday. Is this because I stopped using it or is it because its just what Proactiv does?

It very well could be because you stopped, even temporarily. The trick about acne is that your skin has a balance of moisture, nutrients, oils, etc. that need to be maintained to clear acne. Ideally, your skin would do it for you on its own. However, that doesn't always happen, especially during teen years. So, when you ceased the use of Proactiv, your skin tried to take things into it's own hands (pores... lawlz...). Unfortunately, it probably didn't have enough moisture without Proactiv, since it hadn't been making its own oils, and your skin dried out.

No, it shouldn't have caused that.

If it's irritating your skin then you should discontinue the use of it for a few days, use a normal moisturiser on your skin or E45 cream to try and sort it out.

Not really sure what Proactiv is, it's an American product and not available in the UK. If your skin is often dry, the trick I've found is that keeping it moisturised helps with the acne a lot.

I have Cetaphil, which I know is available in the US in a much larger form. That's design for combination skin or dry skin, if your skin is often dry then I'd suggest you give that a go.

Well when I use it I don't get irritation, for a while I did but that's cause I just shaved and must've nicked myself.
