Vaseline is fine as lube if that is all you can find around the house.

If you have any lotions or creams, then that would be the ideal things to use as lube because they are less messy than Vaseline. However, Vaseline is what you should use if that is all you have, and just remember to keep a rag around to clean up just in case you get Vaseline on your bedsheets or wherever you jack off.

Vaseline isn't too brilliant for your skin, it's made from crude oil originally, a mixture of hydrocarbons.

Plastering it on isn't good for your skin because it cakes the skin in a layer it doesn't need.

You're much better off using a water based lubricant, or your own natural lubricant.
