Paul Mccartney coming in first, he has done by far the best in regards to finance. Look at wings and live and let die, ebony and ivory.

In terms of music: George Harrison
In terms of financial gain: either Lennon or McCartney

In terms of everything - Paul McCartney. His career has been the most successful, the longest, and he has made the most money. First with the group Wings, and a very long solo career after that.
And some facts to back it up. (http://classicrock.about.com/od/bandsandartists/p/mccartney.htm)

Mcartney, in overall success and longevity.
If Lennon was here today, could have been different.

Paul McCartney. Granted he's one of the only two still alive, but he's still very successful today.
If John Lennon were still alive, he'd probably be giving Paul a run for his money, though.

Paul. I'm not so sure John Lennon would be giving him as much of a run for his money right now to be honest. Paul wrote more number 1 hits while they were still together and continued to write many more hits after they disbanded. Though that doesn't take away from the incredible music that John wrote.

I would say john lennon, he is a legend and everyone had heard the song imagine. But wings without McCartney wouldn't have been anything special in my opinion so i dont know

Paul, definitely Paul. Although I like Georges ex Beatle songs better Paul had more commercial success.

Paul. I asked my brother this question and he brought up a good point for John that was that he died at the peak of his career, making him seem more successful, and also making it a slightly unfair comparison. But I think on a longer scale, he wouldn't have done as well as Paul. Personally I much prefer Paul's music and thought he had a much better voice.

Ringo Star? lol, In all seriousness, John Lennon. I like his stuff more than McCartney's anyway.

Ringo!
Yay Ringo!!
To seriously answer the question, though, do you mean commercially successful, or, having produced a more meaningful body of work? For commercial success, it's Paul, no doubt. Even if Lennon hadn't been killed, he never would've beaten Paul commercially because he really didn't care much about commercial success. Harrison was involved in that project with Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and those guys until Orbison died, and I thjnk they had a quite a bit of commercial success.
As far as leaving behind a more meaningful body of work, it's Lennon followed by Harrison.
Of course this is all subjective opinion, as far as the relevancy of the work they did and are doing in Paul's case.
Anyway...Beatles Forever!!

I'd have to go with Paul McCartney due to his success with Wings and as a solo artist. If John would have lived, it would have been interesting to see how the rest of his career could have been.
