Hey guys, just watched one of the most recent of Modern Family, from series 4 I think where Gloria is pregnant and I was saying to my mum that the episode just felt wrong. I've been having this feeling for a while now about the show. I've watched it and loved it from the first pilot showing on sky but I feel now it is beginning to go downhill.
The Dunphy family feels like the stereotypical american sitcom family.
The 'Gays' Mitchell and Cameron have lost there originality.
Jay and Gloria are the two characters I still like.
Has anyone else gone of the series lately?

All series go downhill after awhile. Sure there are some exceptions but it seems Modern Family won't be in that list.

Many shows tend to lose their 'magic' after a few seasons. Writers tend to run out of ideas, the cast and crew get bored of the characters, can't think of any new jokes, etc.
Friends lasted for 10 seasons, but there were several low points within these ten seasons where it seems that the show was running dry. Especially towards the end.

I love Modern Family the first time I've seen it but haven't watched the recent ones. If it's going downhill, well that's how tv series are viewed after a few seasons. Wish I can still enjoy it when I have time to watch it again. :)

I agree - the last episode i watched was when Alex was getting kicked out of college - in most episodes im laughing the entire time but the only funny line was the refrence to legally blonde!
